Roving Rostrum

Perma-Power S100 Roving Rostrum. The original portable PA system. Battery operated PA amplifier and speakers. The cover removes to reveal an angled rostrum for notes, etc. The amplifier, speaker and partial mic stand are built into base. The cover has provisions for accessories, a 40 foot speaker cable and the auxilary speaker. Access to the amplifier and batteries is made by depressing a spring loaded pin and lifting off the silver rostrum cover.

The solid state amplifier uses 2 Everready 731, 6 volt lantern batteries that mount in the base. The amplifier accepts a 1/4" phone plug for the microphone and an RCA jack for the phono input. The speaker jacks are 1/4" phone jacks that allow just the base speaker, both speakers or just the remote speaker to be active.

Batteries shown are for illustration purposes only. They are dead and not included when shipped. Cabinet is 3/8" plywood with plastic covering that shows some wear. Unit works fine.

Portable Mic Mixer

J.W. Davis portable mic mixer. Model MIX-818 battery operated mic mixer. Probably one of the first products they produced. This unit accepts up to 8 high or low impedance (switch selectable) microphones. Each has its own one transistor amplifier and gain control.

On the output, there is another single transistor amplifier and master gain control with both low and high impedance outputs. 'Music In' via an RCA jack on the back panel, with its own level control, is shared with microphone 1. Rear panel microphone inputs are Amphenol MC801M or RCA female.

The unit is powered by 4 internal D-cell batteries. There is a 1/8" mono jack on the back panel for 6 vdc in from an external power source. Housed in a well made steel case, this unit appears almost new. Schematic diagram for this unit and operating instructions for 5 channel MIX-554 included.

Dukane 1A760B Mic Mixer
and Intercom

Late model Dukane rack-mount solid-state mic mixer. Accepts up to 4 microphones via screw terminals on the back. Mic 1 input uses 150 ohm balanced to 600 ohm balanced transformer. Also accepts 1 of 6 switch selected auxilary inputs via RCA jacks.

Includes 1A755B 10 watt solid-state intercom amplifier with local speaker and talk control. Monitor of the program can be selected for the Intercom speaker. The intercom may also be routed to the mixer output. In very good condition although the meter cover is cracked. Appears to work but no documentation is available. Sold "as-is".

Bogen-Presto MX-30
Mixer / PA Amplifier

A vintage premium tube-type mic mixer and PA amplifier from 1959. Accepts up to 4 high impedance microphone inputs with individual level controls and provision for tuner / magnetic phono / crystal phono inputs on microphone number 1. Master volume control allows adjusting overall output level after individual mic levels are set. Separate master bass and treble controls. Rated at 30 watts output with 4, 8, 16, 163 ohm and 25v and 70v output connections. Uses 12AX7 preamp tubes, a 7247 driver and a pair of push-pull 6L6GC tubes for output. Includes copy of operating manual with voltage and resistance chart and schematic. Also includes 4 page Speaker Installation guide. In good condition.

David Bogen Challenger CHA-75
Mic Mixer / PA Amplifier

A vintage early Bogen tube-type mic mixer and PA amplifier. Accepts 2 hi impedance microphone inputs with provision for a phono input. Separate master bass and treble controls. Rated at 75 watts output with 4, 8, 16, 65 ohm and 25v or 70v output connections. Uses a 12AX7 preamp tube, 6AU6 and 6U8 drivers and 2 pair of push-pull 6AV5GA tubes for output. Includes copy of schematic with voltage readings and resistance readings for tube pins. Parts layout also shown. In fair condition, works good.
