Well, if you have followed us through
the years you know we don't exaggerate, but when the factory
calls this beauty 1kw continuous, I've got to scratch my head. The roller
inductor should handle 30 amps, the vacuum 75 amps. So, with
a little rewiring.....
Designed to
couple the GSB-900 transceiver and GSL-1900A Linear Amplifier
into a 35' whip and 50' to 150' long wires or works as a line
flattener into unbalanced (coaxial fed) antennas from 1.6 - 30
MHz!
The general design is an "L" network with series input vacuum cap and shunt inductor at the
output for short antennas like the whip. For long wires, a fixed doorknob is connected in series with
the antenna to form a "T" network.

Altronics antenna coupler as made for
the Dept. of the Navy. Large cabinet (36" x 40" x
34-1/2"H) and proximity of components makes this capacitive
circuit very efficient. Design incorporates three variable and
two fixed vacuum capacitors (not included with basic coupler). Millen
10030 turns counter included. Long wire output insulator on
rear. Basic coupler does not include capacitors or flanges. Shipped
in large crate motor freight only. |

This version of the tuner is complete with all original components.
Two large VMMC-2000-15S (40-2000pF 15kv) vacuum capacitors (pictured
above) are
wired in parallel and tuned with the Millen counter. A UCSXH-200-35S (15-200pF
35kv) is tuned with a single knob on the right of control panel. One each fixed vacuum
capacitors MLC-500-30S (500pf 30kv) and MLC-1000-30S (1000pf 30kv) are
padders. |

a Midwest radio station in 1988 but never installed. Exaggerated
space in extra large cabinet (33" x 34" x 21"H)
keeps Q high and circuit efficient. Design incorporates three
variable inductors, 10uH, 16uH and 70 uH, all extra hurkey silver
plated specimens all driven by B&W 3902 Cyclometers.
Kintronic LV10-15 a 10uH inductor,
LV16-15 a 16uH inductor and LV70-15 a 70uH inductor. 3/8"
silver inter-connect RF tubes for all connections.2400pF #291

This is the jewel from our
SRS acquisition. It is factory rated at 150 watts but has the
capability of being modified to handle 2kw plus. The main tuning
components are a motor driven Jennings CVCJ-1000 5kw vacuum
variable capacitor and a motor driven 24 µH edge wound 20 amp
variable inductor (See details on this inductor under the Variable
Inductor section of this site).
You
be the judge! It is designed to operate with Scientific Radio's
SR-380 transceiver on the RS-422 bus but should be able to
be modified (we hope) to operate with a small home-made control
box. We can provide full "Theory Of Operation" specifications
prior to purchase for your perusal. 28 vdc @ 7 amps required
but motors will run on 8-12 vdc. Designed to use 8' to 75'
radiator.
Our units were completed and tested at
the factory. Gear motors that operate the vacuum cap were
robbed for spare parts so we have priced them accordingly.
We can provide a gear motor we have modified to fit for $95
extra or you can solve the issue. 13" x 16" x 9-1/2"
rain tight enclosure has "N" connector input and a beehive insulator
on the antenna side.
The hinged lid contains most of the control
circuitry. 37 pounds. Copy of a full factory manual included

Factory rated at 100 watts continuous, 150 watts peak. This
was the latest digital design SRS produced.
Programmable
broad banded full range HF tuner incorporates a motor driven
18 µH Johnson roller inductor and switched fixed capacitors
for 10 preset channels. It is designed to operate with Scientific
Radio's SR-380 transceiver on the RS-422 bus but should be
able to be modified (we hope) to operate with a small home-made
control box.

channel couplers are built for stout. Dual 11 µH 10 amp motor
driven Johnson roller inductors fine tune rough tap selections
(of a 25 µH coil, available separtely for $95) by a huge Radio
Switch Model 86, 3 pole, 11 position ceramic switch (included
here and can be found elsewhere in this catalog for $269). This
switch / inductor circuit is similar to that found in Scientific
Radio's SR-110 Amplifier, available elsewhere in this site.
115 vac, 1 amp control current. Circuit is factory rated at 1,000
